It's actually been said that we'd never be able to endure the terrain on the moon. The surface of the moon is composed of razor sharp micro particles that after a few hours will begin to break down gear. This was remarked on by astronauts stating the effects the soil was having on their space suits after a few hours. We would need some heavy duty equipment in order to maintain a presence there - not to mention new ways of dealing with the increased radiation. This is one of the reasons we just never went back to the moon. It was a dead end of sorts. Interesting to study but not much we need to do there ourselves that robots and drones can't do.

I hope that when we start phase 3 we start seeing humanity as a hole rather than a competition within nations to colonize space. Otherwise the moon will claim independence and that will end up being the final sign that something is wrong with humanity

A more critical comment on the (overwhelmingly) negative aspects of colonisation that last until today would have been nice, for it was only mentioned briefly and as something historic. Colonialism still has huge impacts on today's societies and countries all around the globe. Sadly, there is only one blink-and-you-miss-it-sentence. I get that colonizing the moon is totally different and that you don't have time to go deeply into history, but when you use the history of colonialism as a positive example, you cannot ignore how devastating it was in reality. This time, I cannot give the video a like, even though the rest is great.
