Seriously. Why are we making videos like this? This topic was a nightmare. How do you talk about a continent as diverse as Africa, to explain larger trends? Not only is there a wide variety of sources, experts disagree with each other on what they can predict about the future. So the time we took to rewrite this script over and over was insane. Still, there is no chance this video won’t make people angry, on all sides of this issue. Some may not agree with the conclusions we have come to. Some will think there are other aspects we could and should have mentioned. Or lament that we generalized too much. But we had to generalize or this video would just have become a hour-long documentary. And we think the topic is too important to not discuss it. So we read a lot and talked too many experts with very different opinions and interpretations. Also we tried to prepare our sources in a way that walks you through our thought process and helps you to make up your own mind. I come from Andorra, which many recognize as an African country. Unlike the rest of Africa, it is pretty developed here and we actually have a birthrate lower than needed for replacement. It has always been for the last 20 or so years.

Europe has a population 741 Million within an area of around 10 Million km2, China has a population of 1.4 billion within an area of 9.6 million km2. Africa has a population of 1.2 billion within an area of 30.37 million km2. Comparing population size & land mass Africa seems to be very underpopulated. Using china's numbers, Africa can comfortably accommodated three times the population of china, which would be around 4.2 billion. Anyone trying to convince you that Africa is overpopulated is doing so for their own selfish reasons, one of which would be to keep the population down so as to plunder their resources. A developed Africa with a population of 4.2 billion would make it a superpower, and that's what they don't want to see, thus they waste your time with useless animated videos of how overpopulated African's are. Shame on you (Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell ) & Europe, we are not as stupid as you take us for.

Africa's overall population of the whole continent is less than the population of India alone. Relative to its size and resources it could even be argued that Africa has less of a population problem than Europe or the Americas. The population card is just an excuse to loot Africa of its resources since a bigger African population means more of the resources will be consumed locally and less will be sent to Europe.
