Electricity is all around us, all the time. It makes our lives easier, safer, more fun and most of us never think about it. But is there such a thing as too much electricity? Electronic devices emit an electromagnetic field, which is suspected to cause cancer. We read countless sources on this topic to summarize the results of the latest research for you.

Try explaining this to my mum! When I was like 9 years old I kept telling her to buy me a phone, coz all my classmates had phones since first grade. She kept reminding me, that if I'd try to make a call, I'd instantly get a tumor in my brain and die the same year. I believed her. Now she still thinks that internet makes you dumb. -_- I sent her this video many times, she doesn't even watch it till the and and comes to me with complain why I'm sending nonsence and she's not gonna waste her time... -_-

TheHouseOfWaffles

Just a thought experiment here; if I'm wrong and somebody can (politely) tell me why, I'll happily accept the explanation and move on. The shorter the wavelength of the radiation, the more harmful it is to organisms. I would guess this is because the shorter the wavelength, the greater the probability is that the radiation will bump into an organic molecule within a given space while passing through an organism and knock out an electron or split an atom. Radio wavelengths are so long that they _rarely_ (but not never) bump into an organic molecule, and because such a collision is so rare the organism can heal quick enough that it never develops into cancer, hence why radio waves are so safe. (Living organisms experience nuclear fission "all the time," but normally the frequency is so low that it's far too negligible to be endangering.) Now consider a living space packed full of electrical devices, _each_ broadcasting radio waves for wireless network communication in addition to the radiation generated by electric currents. While these devices are each emitting long-wavelength radiation which is normally harmless, this space is _saturated_ with long-wavelength radiation, such that waves are overlapping and crisscrossing, to the degree that some devices even experience _radio interference._ Similar to how a single thread is weak enough to break by hand but several woven together into a rope are extremely strong, could an extreme saturation of normally harmless long-wavelength radiation be equivalent to exposure to a small dose of short-wavelength radiation? Or is that saturation point _so high_ that it's not likely to be reached in even a Computer House of Internet-Connected Things operating several machines?

Prieš mėn
Cell User
Cell User

to answer you: No and no. Power is more linked to waves than frequency: Microwave ovens radiate in order of several hundred million times more energy than Wifi in the same frequency band... so it means you will take several days to cook with a WiFi router the same food you do in 30sec cycle in your microwave.

Prieš mėn
TheHouseOfWaffles
TheHouseOfWaffles

Now looking at the _other_ side of the argument, people are spending all day staring at bright screens, getting little-to-no exercise, eating mostly processed rubbish, and getting most of their water in the form of sugar drinks, so whether or not radio waves really are a contributing factor, it's no wonder more and more people are experiencing chronic headaches.

Kurzgesagt I like and follow your videos. I agree the idea here too what you say but there is an exception you haven't mentioned. 5G, the upper frequencies of 5G will be used in dense city areas like London, Newyork etc and upper frequency is somewhere between 25-52 but it can even be upto 80Ghz. And higher the frequency smaller the wavelength and smaller wavelengths affected by objects so in chocoblock city centers once in 40-50 meters on lamp posts everywhere there will be planted cells, transievers. In certain areas people will be exposed to intersection of bounced signals and they will be in long term harming your body. Don't forget microwave ovens uses frequency around 300 Ghz and it heats up foods, so fast! Typical 39 Ghz operator 5g upper band frequency is not less! You say sun beams not harmful but if you collect them with a lens you can burn a paper. Its not direct ratio like 300ghz heats up 1 kg chicken in 10 mins so 50ghz 5g will take 60mins, but one thing obvious 50ghz will also heat up your cells. If you sunbath more than 20 mins you will be burnt etc.. We Have to consider it will be dangerous in long term. Those who living and working in the heard of big developed cities are subject to the this potential danger. We don't have 10-15 years to see long term effects of these crazy dense carrier waves! After 15 years saying that "fck 5g in city centers could actually trigger cell mutations so cancer, then will be late.. to test long term 15 years of effects i tell you 3years×365/7/24 hours expose a mouse/rat into radiowaves around 50 Ghz and then see what happens, other factors must be normal feeding sleeping and no stress factor should be there,(not small cage for mouse) in the test only 1 factor has to be fulfilled exposing extreme 5g waves.. then see the results afterwards that will give valuable data

@Cell User I'm electronics engineer, and software test engineerMy 2 best friends from are uni and they both specialised in optimisation of network coverage. One said if you have an enemy youbdont have to shot them, you can direct 38Ghz direct drum antenna towards their bedroom for a couple of weeks(but I agree with you about power; that their power is much more than small cell transievers). Other guy he climbed antenna towers those 80-100 m ones.. he once forgot to shutdown the system before he started maintaining the antennas and he said after 25 mins of working his hands sweated heated extremely and he felt dizzy all next day.. I did not contradict the truth that no any evidence yet about their harm, but wait and see after a decade at least.. Do you remember when 2G -2.5G times when your mobile just before rings and when you're near a radio hownit effects the radio programs? Remember the noise/distortion it created.. when ringing (before call set up) the power was tens of times more.. and electromagnetic waves can induce a very small amount of current flows in our body as its conducting! So it has an effect you cant say no any effect.. the right question must be : will it harm considerably or not? Anyways atm 5g uses lower frequencies which also intersects LTE.

Prieš mėn
Cell User
Cell User

I´ve been working in the field of electronics as an engineer for over 2 decades, and I can say this: You´re biased. 5G frequencies show some high-frequency ranges BUT for electromagnetic waves. The lower red light "vibrates" at 400 THz, which means 5000 higher than the higher 5G frequency and no harm produces. The key factor here is power, which leads to a pretty low power needed for a 5G antenna to work. furthermore, there´s no 300GHZ oven, hardly works with a 3GHz signal. and no: 5G will be significantly reduced by a 15 year period... we have 4 generations and hardly there´re 3G phones. Studies more studies have to be made, but there´s no hard evidence there is a brain cancer tumor made by antenna radiation. By the way, what says in min 4:55 is kind of real: many technicians who installed antennas became bald and "only girls" parents instead of boys...

It all depends on how much we use technologies like laptop phones and others. It is more than logical that if you use a phone for, say, ten hours a day, these radio waves will have some negative effect on you. And unfortunately most people make this mistake. I personally think it is better to use our phones a little. But this applies not only to phones but also to other devices. Because even if they have no effect on humans, the same cannot be said for animals and plants. It is possible to have an effect, even if small, but it is an effect that is better to be limited or even removed because for me it is better if nature remains as much as possible intact from human activity. And if this is a problem that we can solve without reducing the quality of our communication and the quality of other things like Wi-fi then I see no reason not to do so.😁❤️🌳🌍Even I myself have complaints from my phone. It has happened to me after ten hours of use that I get headaches and dizziness, so I am more than sure that there is some negative effect that over time can cause some damage. I don't think the problem is just a figment of our imagination. Not to mention that there is a certain effect that certainly exists and that is the effect of technology on our mental activity. People just become addicted to their phones and start not reflecting the real world at all, even their loved ones, so there must be some restrictions.📵

@no yes I did not say that people should be controlled by law how much to use the phone. I say that people should control themselves. But still I do not agree that the headache is from the brightness of the screen but from the rays emitted by the phone. And I'm not saying that it has a very strong negative effect, but if it has even a small effect, isn't it better if it is removed. And just to note about the video that the cases of headaches caused by the phone are not few. There are few cases of people reporting these headaches. But if you ask 7 million people, for example, 4 to 6 million will certainly confirm that they have had headaches caused by the phones. I know this from personal experience with my hometown with a population of 15,000 people where everyone knows everyone. I know that 15,000 and 7 million have a big difference, but if most people in my city confirm that they have such cases with a few calculations, you can estimate what the results will be with approximately 7 million people.

Prieš mėn
no yes

If I want to use my phone 10 hours a day, I should be legally allowed to unless I'm on the road. And perhaps that headache is because you've been staring at your screen at full brightness for 10 hours.
