Its krazy doe I know plenty of people that would trust some street drugs over pharmaxy drugs just because the war on drugs made the government drugs do more harm than some street drugs. For example: acid or trazodone. They both stop hallucinations right? Yes! They do. But at what cost? If you were hit in the head hard enough and survived but got hallucinations, they would give u some pharmacy drugs. I said trazodone cause they fucked up the order which happens alot ! Anyway the acid stopped their hallucinations with no side effects lots of fun time and they had a very new life experience... Now trazadone.. it worked for a good 2-3 months but they started getting side effects!?!! And what side effects u might be wondering? Drolling.. you try to close your mouth but it just keeps coming out for almost a week worth ah time.. but that's not the only side effect!! You get to have locking up muscles that make u have to have an arm bar.. for how long you might ask? Who knows!! Until u goto the hospital n they inject you with something that stops it! Yayyyy. What will you decide? Say maybe to drugs!!!

I am a "veteran" of this nasty "war" And being located in Mexico this video is actually the most accurate point of view I have ever seen. The war on drugs is just an "enabling" war. After 2 years over there we came home and the kids were not doing drugs nice right? NOT SO FAST, because it wasnt illegal the little buggers were huffing glue instead. THE WAR ON GETTING HIGH IS A TOTAL BUST... war on "drugs" my ass....

From what I understood after watching this video, is that American politicians never really wanted a solution to the problem. They just needed an excuse to keep the money circling in the higher strata of the society, all while increasing disparity and division among the general public more than ever. Destroying lives to stop them from being destroyed? It is as ridiculous as it sounds.

Americans cannot comprehend what Switzerland did, just like they can't understand free healthcare. It's all, "I'm not paying for somebody else", brainwashing, even though taxes would cover it and cost them less overall. The war on 80s/90s drugs in America has been won. The NEW war on millennial drugs has yet to even begin. Crack and heroin are no longer at the forefront of addiction cases in America as they were back then. People are addicted to pills and liquid opiates that are produced and manufactured by big pharma. How do you fight something like that? You don't. You join in and capitalize on it. All the government wanted to do in the 80s/90s was to get control of the game for themselves. They have turned every drug you can think of into a pill or liquid form and called it medicine. Addicted to heroin? Here, try Suboxone, methadone. They have a counter drug for every drug in a more convenient form that is just as addictive as the original. Anyways, thats what i think on this subject.

The thing no one seems to ever mention is what happens after drugs have been made legal. You think the people pushing drugs will suddenly want to (or even be able to) get a 9-5 job for a much smaller amount of money than they got from pushing drugs? These people will just find something else to make a quick buck from - perhaps doing something worse than they are doing today. Im not saying that the US war on drugs is the right answer, but one does need to think about what will happen when all of the drug pushers are suddenly out of a job. Something tells me they wont just sit idle by as they lose their money cow

In America, we have methadone clinics. This is very similar to the Swiss approach to heroine use. Any opiate ends up being substituted with methadone. There are treatments that can get an opiate user to a drug free lifestyle. It's a small step in the right direction. And, it will take time for this war on drugs to resolve itself and dissolve into a more regulated system. With that, other problems will arise. But, it's a step in the right direction. We are slowly making more drugs legal in various states. We are developing treatments for drugs that were previously thought of as not useful for therapy. We are scheduling drugs to describe them to have more therapeutic potential and less harm potential. Thus, crime charges for drugs are becoming less intense. It's progress toward a better system. We cannot stop people from enjoying drugs by punishing them. We can only end this war through knowledge and effective use and regulation of drugs.

@Stunt_niklas Oh, but you wouldn’t want 16 year olds using illegal heroin cut with krokodile, would you? Why should they be subjected to the cartels and heroin cut with deadly substances?
Prieš 19 dienųStunt_niklas
@roxarecool no of course natural heroin can be deadly but heroin cut with more dangerous stuff is way deadlier 2. 18 not because the body is fully developed yet but because i think youre an adult at 18 and you can decide on your own what you want to put in your body or not
Prieš 19 dienųroxarecool
@Stunt_niklas 1. Are you denying that natural heroin is deadly? 2. Would you set an age limit to legal heroin?

Prieš 19 dienųRadexy
I'd like to add some details as to why treating heroin addicts with heroin works well. Heroin slows down your heart rate and breathing. This is the reason why an overdose can be lethal. That said, the long term physical effects of heroin are surprisingly low and mainly related to that resulting lack of oxigen. The real problem of the substance itself is the high potential for addictions. That combined with street heroin usually containing less than 10% heroin in favor of other substances that are a lot more toxic than the heroin itself. Also the injection as method of application is even more dangerous than other methods. Furthermore the active dose is not that much lower compared to the lethal dose. This means that, especially after developing some tolerance, just small errors in the dosage can have lethal consequences. And not knowing how much heroin actually is in your stuff makes these errors a lot more common. Therefore the access to clean heroin can not only allow measures for improving the patients general or social life to take effect but also heavily improves their physical health.
