There is a Spanish study as well as one conducted in India where covid positive hospital patients were given vitamin d . The results in both studies do point to decrease in death as well as disease severity with increased vitamin d . Dr John Campbell discusses it at length on his channel

Im so happy someone is sharing this information , I had a autoimmune disease 6 years ago and discovered i was vit D3 deficient and hospitals had me jumping through Nuclear Pet scans and other detramental procedures to assertain what was wrong, and when i put it to the specialist asking 2 questions "Do you think vit D3 is a major contribution to ALL autoimune diseses" and he agreed immediatly, so asked him why did i not get a blood test to that effect ? he didnt answer!. Spread the word , give our people the information to help them experience the full picture of health, well done.

It's genuinely hilarious when people who quite obviously don't have the most basic abilities in appraisal of health research evidence or epidemiology start quoting statistics with such hubris. When anyone rants on about bioplausibility and just skims over all the internal and external validity of studies and constantly selective reports endpoints to confirm their pre-held biases its just embarrassing to anyone with even a basic undergrad level of education in epidemiology.... Joe, please get an actual expert in this field to talk about this field... This misinformation is simply marketing for the multi billion dollar supplement industry

@Don Mak7 this is where the definition of 'a big role' comes into play and what represents a big 'effect size'.... Of which there are several standardised measures... Not sure what you mean by 'small minority'...you mean amongst vocal media news? https://www.bmj.com/content/369/bmj.m2629?ijkey=26feb6b1c77d098384e6052480c04ddf6045c712&keytype2=tf_ipsecsha

@floetic Well im not a doctor, but i thought it was widely accepted and understood that VD plays a big role in immune health and i have seen doctors saying exactly what they're saying in this vid and i have heard Dr fauci talk about Vd as well. I dont think anyone is arguing against eating right and staying active. So if you're saying vitamin D is not that important and i could be misreading, but it sounds like that is your stance then with all due respect it sounds like you're in a small minority and i respectfully disagree based on my limited understanding. Have a good day.

Prieš 4 dienas

@Don Mak7 Vit-D and Covid: it's the lowest quality observational data.. even if you look at the systematic reviews which are most 'in favour' of the association.. firstly many keep using an odds ratio (any paper that leaves outcomes only as ORs are probably doing so on purpose because most people, even statistitians, struggle to understand ORs)... the ORs in the most favourable systematic reviews seem to suggest a TINY benefit in terms of both occurrence of Covid-19 or worse outcomes)... AND, there's HUGE heterogeneity amongst the included studies; like 50-75%.. normally when there's that much variation in the outcomes of different studies you need a solid understanding why, cos it's not even really appropriate to meta-analyse such varied studies... plus the risk of bias in studies is just massive.. plus so few ever actually take confounding (eg ethnicity, socioeconomic status) into consideration either during sampling or analysis; which even further weakens the already tiny possible association... There are ways you can try and take observational data into consideration to imply causality, rather than purely an association.. but the studies and systematic reviews i've seen simply don't meet those standards.. so basically there's just a small 'association' between lower Vit-D and risk of infection or hospitalisation - which, when the actual experimental studies come out looking for causality or confounders, i imagine will show that age, socioeconomic status, weight, ethnicity are FAR more related important and Vit D is just a spurious confounder, which, at best, has a tiny tiny tiny effect-modifying role for people with massive confidence intervals....If people want to take Vitamin D during winter, by all means they're welcome to, there's a minimal opportunity cost if they're just buying cheap supplements and you can't really overdose on it.. if people want to do things to really improve their well-being, life expectancy, quality of life and reduce their chances of Covid-19 mortality.. there are far more impactful things within their control; such as exercise, weight loss, healthier eating in general and of course the usual hand-washing and social distancing precautions...

Prieš 9 dienų

Masks are meant to prevent the spread. They have been PROVEN to stop the spread of respiratory droplets. Before Covid-19, collectivist cultures like Japan and Korea used masks as a COURTESY whenever one was sick with a respiratory virus SO AS TO NOT GET OTHERS SICK. The problem is that Americans are so self-centered and egocentric to realize that face masks aren't used for preventing self-infection. It's used for preventing infection to others if you may have it. Let's say a person with enough Vitamin D is able to kick Covid-19 in a day - or be asymptomatic the entire time and not realize they've even been infected - then the purpose of the mask is critical for slowing the spread to others. Americans don't think about others, because the nation is the most egocentric and self-centered culture in the world! Individualism doesn't pay off in pandemics.

Tell you what, since watching this about 2 weeks ago, I've been taking Vitamin D, only 800 IU (upping it to 2000 shortly). I honestly feel already like I have more vitality, energy, whatever you wanna call it. I live in the UK and as a double edged sword for that I don't really get much sunlight even in the summer. Even more fascinating, I had Covid in March, and whilst the main symptoms didn't last long at all (fever, cough) on the 5th day I had real breathing problems, and it would make massive sense if this is due to having low levels of Vitamin D, based on what Rhonda said about the Ace2 receptor, and also what I've heard elsewhere which is Vitamin D helps to moderate the immune system, so it doesn't go into overdrive and cause blood clots, which I reckon is what happened to me. Crazy. I honestly think I'll be taking a Vitamin D supplement for the rest of my life.

What u people dont know is without minerals, vitamins dont work. Magnesium reserves in the body in large amounts is required for Vit D3 to get activated and only then calcium (which is the most abundant mineral in the body and required for strong mental and neural function) can be absorbed by body. 12 Cell salts or tissue salts of homeopathy are part of the answer to these problems. Do a thorough research on these . Read books on amazon and youtube on these for insight. Study about water memory or water structure and learn how it is associated with homeopathy.

Also, drink at least 8 cups of water a day to keep from having oxalate build-up and to keep well hydrated for general health. If you eat COOKED cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, sprinkle the cooked greens with at least 1/8 teaspoon of mustard powder to activate the sulforaphane in cooked cruciferous vegetables. Dr. Rhonda has spoken at length about the advantage of sulforaphane. Broccoli sprouts are also rich in sulforaphane. There is also a lot of great info about greens and sulforaphane at nutrition facts.org.

I love Dr. Rhonda, but only those folks who haven't had oxalate problems aren't concerned about oxalates. Kale has few oxalates so eat lots of kale but spinach, chard, beet greens have A LOT OF OXALATES. Don't eat more than 4 ounces of the high oxalate greens per day. Eat as much kale as you can. I aim for 2 pounds of dark, leafy greens a day, but I probably eat only 8 or 12 ounces a day. I also eat broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage per day. My health and skin has never been so great. Also, eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible. Try to eat a few walnuts when you eat your leafy greens so you better absorb the nutrients. Don't eat animal products or as little as possible. You will eliminate inflammation and feel and look amazing. Don't forget the vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D (Measure Vitamin D levels if possible). Also, drink 8 glasses of water per day to flush excess oxalates. See nutritionfacts.org about oxalates.
