Inside neutron stars we can find the weirdest and most dangerous substance in the universe: Strange matter. What is strange matter, how dangerous is it and what can it tell us about the origin of the universe?

Does anyone realize the paradox here? If other matter turns into strange matter if it comes into contact with strange matter, once it develops inside a neutron star, the whole star should become a strange neutron star right?

Neutrons have a huge influence on nuclear behavior and property, but they are unstable by themselves. Why couldn't the same be true for strange matter? There is no evidence that supports the supposition that strange matter is stable outside of a neutron star. Most of the heavy elements (like gold and lead) are made in neutron star mergers, not supernovas. We should see evidence of strangelets if they are stable, so if they exist inside neutron stars, they are probably not stable outside.

Interesting but doesn't the fact that we don't see stars that mysteriously wink out of existence indicate that either strangelets don't happen or they never break free if they do?

Or, as he mentioned in the very beginning, all quarks other than up and down quarks are inherently unstable and decay into up and down quarks quickly under normal conditions. Once they leave a quark star, they may just decay themselves.

1. Why would strange matter survive if not under the pressure of a neutron star ? You said at the beginning that strange quarks are not stable and decay very fast ... 2. Strange matter the beginning of the universe should have contaminated verything ? but it has not . So the claims in this video seem very speculative, to say the least.

This might sound dumb but what if the universe itself was all strange matter at one stage. What if we’re looking at everything wrong. Let me explain. The entire universe is full of strange matter and then the Big Bang happens which causes an effect opposite to that of a strange star exploding. What if the Big Bang released quarks which cleansed the universe of strange matter. I may be entirely wrong. Please do let me know if I’m incorrect in my theory.

Maybe the big bang was a cultivation of black holes and neutron stars colliding. In a previous or mother universe. The creation of universes might be easier than we think, it might be the luck of a super massive black hole creating so much power they push through the space time continuum and create their own. The mass and the mathematics of something so huge might not compute in the universe it happened in, and by the laws of physics stars a parallel universe slightly smaller and less energetic but adheres to the laws of physics 99.9% the same as the mother universes

"Other atoms may become so impressed by the stability that they become strange matter, too." "Gross oversimplification" my ass, this is like talking to a child. "Impressed"? Atoms are not alive, how the fuck do they turn from one thing to another because they're "impressed"? I'm sure there's an actual reason, but to "simplify" things down to this preschoolish of a level makes no sense.
